Get Experience Working With Startups Through BR Legal
Lateral Link is pleased to announce a new way for our Members to enhance their careers. Through a unique partnership with Cornell Law School's BR Legal program, Lateral Link now offers our Members an invaluable opportunity to mentor tomorrow’s lawyers and connect with potential future clients.
The BR Legal program provides start-up clients with legal advice on basic corporate issues by teaming up experienced practitioners with Cornell Law School students interested in corporate law. Start-up clients gain affordable top-quality legal guidance, law students get real-life experience, and mentoring lawyers develop relationships with both potential associates and clients.
Several dozen law firms currently participate in the BR Legal program, and attorneys at these firms are eligible for pro bono or client development billable hours credit. If your firm does not currently participate, the BR Legal staff can help you enroll your firm so that you can also get billable hours credit.
Benefits from participation in the BR Legal program include:
Working with exciting new companies as they take their initial legal steps.
Developing relationships with potential future clients - 25% of BR Legal clients have gone on to become clients of their mentor law firm.
Mentoring law students on the practice of corporate law.
