In an article on how the uncertain economy is affecting the legal market, Business Week cites the results of two June 2008 Lateral Link surveys showing that 45% of associates are concerned about job security, up from 23% six months ago. The surveys also reveal that 52% of respondents report work is slow. As Lateral Link principal T. J. Case Study: ThoughtWorthy Media
ThoughtWorthy Media was founded by a recent Cornell graduate and focuses on the online media advertising space. ThoughtWorthy's technology platform allows TV viewers to identify,
research, and purchase online the music, products and advertising they
view on television.
Working with BR Legal, attorneys at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP mentored a Cornell law student on the entity formation and also some basic intellectual property issues. ThoughtWorthy Media was subsequently sold to Macrovision and integrated into TVGuide.com.

Lateral Link welcomes Miguel Escobar as a Director in our New York office, where he will consult attorneys on opportunties in New York and Washington, D.C.
 |
Miguel previously worked for a prominent New York legal search firm and as a litigation associate at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. Miguel also worked at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees as part of their legal protection and policy team. |
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Miguel grew up in the South Florida region and attended Brown University, where he graduated with a B.A. with honors in political science. Miguel holds a J.D. from New York University School of Law and is an active member of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Miguel enjoys running in the park, picking up a good read at The Strand Bookstore, exploring the city's phenomenal restaurants and volunteering for United Cerebral Palsy.
