ABA Journal and National Law Journal publish results of Lateral Link surveys.
In June 2008, Lateral Link conducted two surveys which found that nearly 30% of lawyers are concerned about job security, up from 10% just six months ago. In addition, more than half of respondents indicated that work is slow, with 69% of corporate attorneys reporting a lack of work. As Lateral Link principal T.J. Duane told the ABAJournal: "The surveys highlight a change in the job market . . . associates need to be more proactive about going out there at their firm and finding work."

This month, we thought we would tell you a little more about one of our team members, Ryan Belville.

A Director in Lateral Link's New York office, Ryan was born in Olympia, Washington and later moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he went to high school and college. |
He majored in art history at the University of Michigan, where he attended the Honors College, and holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School. Before joining Lateral Link, Ryan practiced litigation for several years and then became a legal recruiter in 2004. When he's not overseeing attorney placements and client services for Lateral Link, Ryan can be found cooking, traveling the world, or rooting for the Wolverines - Go Blue!
