Position Description:
A fortune 500 insurance company is seeking an attorney to consult on a variety of corporate matters.The attorney will be expected to develop mutual fund board meeting materials, draft fund and investment adviser procedures, prepare/negotiate related agreements and work on all fund and adviser-related matters.In addition, the attorney will provide legal advice and other legal support to internal clients and monitor legislation and new laws affecting mutual funds and investment advisers. The role will involve drafting prospectus disclosure, investment advisor disclosure, documents and materials, along with implementing appropriate procedures to comply with new laws.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
•law degree from an accredited law school,
•some knowledge of federal securities laws,
•excellent writing and communication skills,
•detail oriented, organized and professional,
•a self starter who is capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines,
•able to work well in a team environment,
•proficient in Microsoft Office,
•a minimum of 2+ years experience in federal securities law, preferably in the Investment Company Act of 1940 and/or the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, with a strong desire to focus on and learn the 40 Acts,
•prior financial services industry experience a plus, and
•admission to California or another state bar required

GUARANTEED BONUS
Placement Bonus
Lateral Link typically provides a placement bonus to Members who are placed in full-time law firm positions. In most instances, the bonus amount will equal:
(a) $10,000 for positions with a base salary greater than $160,000; or
(b) $5,000 for positions with a base salary of $160,000 or less.
Although we assist all Members with a career transition, Lateral Link does not provide a placement bonus for boutique law firm, in-house counsel, government or non-profit placements. Additionally, we are unable to offer a signing bonus for some law firm positions in certain instances, given the arrangement with the employer; we appreciate your understanding in advance. Please confirm with your search consultant as to whether a specific position qualifies for a placement bonus.
A placement bonus is paid after Lateral Link fully earns its fee from the law firm, which is subject to Lateral Link’s agreement with each employer.
