Karen is a Midwest-based recruiter with a background as a corporate attorney in both private practice and in-house. She was born and raised in Minnesota and attended St. Olaf College, where she received her B.A. in English and History with a Management Studies Concentration. She attended the University of Minnesota Law School, where she was a Managing Editor of and published author in the University of Minnesota Law Review. She focused her studies on corporate law and received her J.D. with a Business Law Concentration magna cum laude.
After law school, Karen joined the law firm now known as Lathrop GPM in Minneapolis, where she supported established and emerging business clients with a focus on private equity, mergers and acquisitions, securities and finance, and intellectual property and privacy. She then moved in-house with two Fortune 500 companies in the Twin Cities.
Karen and her husband are the proud parents to a son and a daughter.
